Ensuring that children reach the age appropriate developmental milestones requires correct diet and education. As such, Feed the Babies Fund facilitates training in basic Early Childhood Development for caregivers in the crèches. Visit to TREE training course Ladysmith 25 May 2015 002

Feed the Babies Fund provides basic training to early childhood caregivers in the rural areas of Kwazulu-Natal. Our objective with this component of our project is to ensure that at least one caregiver in each crèche that we support is trained in basic First Aid, crèche administration and Early Childhood SAM_0514Development.

This training equips them with the necessary tools to teach the children a syllabus that aids their development and prepares them for school education. Improved education of the local caregivers in rural ECD centres results in improved conditions for the children, greater stimulation & learning and sustainability of the care centre which ultimately results in an improvement in child development.

Caregivers are also trained in Crèche Management to equip them with the necessary skills to ensure that crèches are run correctly and become sustainable over the long term. We also guide and support the crèches in their endeavours to become legally registered so that they can institute their own fundraising initiatives.

Through providing training to the caregivers in the crèches, Feed the Babies Fund covers the three fundamentals of child development being nutrition, education and safety.
